Do you believe in magic?
By: Ava Beswick
Hello Brooklyn Independent, I’m Ava Beswick and today I’m here to tell you all about the movie The School For Good and Evil! Now, to get this out of the way, obviously there will be spoilers for the movie, so now you know SPOILER ALERT. Okay now that we’re done with that, I’ll give you my initial thoughts before watching this series. I don’t think it will be that bad, but I heard it wasn’t the best of movies so I’ll be forming my own opinion!
Okay so, after watching the movie I think it wasn’t a horrible movie. I absolutely hate Tedros. He is the root of all problems. He caused Sophie to spiral even worse into darkness and evil. He caused Sophie to hate Agatha. Maybe he did all these things indirectly and unknowingly but he still did that.
On the other hand, I love how the movie was about learning to love, not romantically, but platonically. You can love someone without wanting to be in a relationship. The scene where Sophie dies to save her friends, and Agatha gave her true love’s kiss to bring her back really touched my heart and made me happy. Nobody needed Tedros for anything. In conclusion, Tedros killed the movie and Agatha and Sophie brought it back.

What is the History of Halloween?
By. Judah Caldwell
When was this idea practiced?
The tradition originated with the idea that evil spirits would come to attack humans so they decided the best way to deal with it would be to wear costumes and dress up as creepy and ugly creatures to scare off the evil spirits.
In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a holiday which incorporated All Hallows, or All Hallowmas which were the original names of Halloween.
People on Halloween tell scary stories to scare off the “Evil spirits” although there not technically evil spirits they are real spirits from the “Day of the Dead” but as we know, the “Day of the Dead” isn’t a day of summoning evil spirits it’s a day were our ancestors can come and see us, travel over to the human world once again. (once again meaning when they were alive) Day of the Dead is largely celebrated in Mexico and communities who are mostly of Mexican descent.
But some people took that as a chance to make it seem like Mexicans were insane or doing some kind of ritual to summon evil spirits to make people scared and fight the Mexicans by dressing up.
The Origins of the Jack O’ Lantern:
In Ireland, people started to carve demonic faces out of turnips to frighten away Jack’s wandering soul. When Irish immigrants moved to the U.S, they began carving jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins, as these were native to the region. But the native name is jack o lanterns.

All About Tupac Shakur
By: Nylah Nash
Who is Tupac Shakur ?
——————————————————————
Tupac Shakur was an African American rapper, and actor, who was important because “he brought to hip hop a level of rawness and a poetic drive in the way he delivered his words, according to abc.net. For example, a famous quote Tupac said was “All I’m trying to do is survive and make good out of the dirty, nasty, unbelievable lifestyle that they gave me.” Which means yes, he lives a dirty, nasty lifestyle but he’s not going just to let it faze him he’s going to make something out of it and change his lifestyle so he can have a better one, which he did transitioning from a poor, fatherless young man who had a dream of being a revolutionary to a rich, successful rapper.
How did Tupac die?
————————————————————————–
Tupac died on September 13, 1996. He was shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, he was later rushed to the University Medical center and later died due to him suffering from gunshot wounds.
Still, to this day his killer has not been identified.
Before Tupac’s death.
———————————————————————
Prior to Tupac’s death, he resolved his beef with Nas 96’, an American rapper.
They two were beefing because Tupac believed Nas was dissing him on one of his tracks.
This was resolved at the 1996 awards ceremony, so who could have killed Tupac?
Who may have killed Tupac?
—————————————
It is not yet known who killed Tupac however in season 1, Episode 4 “Who Killed Tupac? Suge Knight and Death Row Records’’ on A&E they mention Tupac was in the car with Suge Knight, a 6’2, 300-pound male. During the night of Tupac’s murder, they say that a car pulled up to the car Tupac and Surge were in and the person inside fired between 10 – 15 shots, Tupac was hit by 4, and Surge was hit not a single time. According to the law of physics, the math isn’t leading these lawyers to think Surge Knight was the killer of Tupac.
